High Powered Rocketry Certifications
Working with students to obtain their certifications in high powered rocketry.
Mission
To increase the knowledge base of rocketry within students. Providing a solid base to support the other projects that KXR hosts throughout the year.
Our L1 Program is a hands on course designed to teach the fundamentals of rocketry and learn the basics of OpenRocket, CAD, manufacturing, and the Launch process. Successful launch and recovery allows for an L1 certification.
Our L2 Program allows you to demonstrate your experience with high powered rocketry at a more advanced level than your L1. L2 hosts a series of design challenges, learning opportunities, and skills that are critical in the rocketry world including dual deployment Recovery, flight electronics, and black powder separation.
High Power Rocketry certification is regulated in the United States by the National Association of Rocketry (NAR) and Tripoli Rocketry Association (TRA). Members of these organizations can obtain up to three levels of certification being Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 with a Level 3 certification allowing an individual to fly the largest commercially available motors.
